Volunteer Opportunities:

This league relies heavily on volunteers. If you re interested in volunteering as a coach, assistant coach, score clock keeper, or team parent, please fill out the attached form and email to basketball@calvarylg.com.

Coaching
Our coaches in the league are all volunteers, and we rely heavily on parent coaches. Don't worry if you are rusty or don't know a lot about the game. We provide coaching tips and trainers who can help you. We would love to have you consider coaching or assistant coaching.

Our requirements for coaching are a love for teaching kids, basketball knowledge, a desire to teach, and the ability to model Jesus Christ. We ask our coaches to pray with the kids and encourage them to attend the devotionals and learn the memory verses. We also ask our coaches to sign a coaches' pledge, and attend the mandatory coaches' clinic on Dec. 17 from 9-11.

Coaching commitment for 4-5and 6-7 year old division: 60 minutes on Saturday, including practice and game.

Coaching commitment for ages 8-13 divisions: one 60 minute practice during the week and one hour for the game on Saturday

Score/time keeping
No advance knowledge is necessary--we are looking for volunteers to keep score and maintain the time clock (most leagues have a running clock for the quarters).

Team Parent
We are looking for volunteers to assist the coaches in communicating with the families, arranging snacks for the kids after the game, and if possible, coordinate photos from the games that we can use in an end of year slide show.
