LETTING GO
REACHES INDIA
By: Jon Olson, Pastor of Outreach
Last fall, Dr. Ronald Gier (New Delhi, India) lost his wife Pretti to a deadly illness. The combined fees for Pretti's hospitalization, treatment and internment left the Giers in debt and unable to pay the remaining bills. Ronald and his son Abhishek were forced to borrow money to help cover the family's losses.
In December, we presented Ronald's need with several others in our community as part of our "Letting Go" campaign. Hundreds of people at Calvary sold personal possessions to raised $21,700 to meet these needs and change lives in the name of Jesus Christ.
During a visit to India earlier this month, I had the privilege of delivering $10,000 to Ronald and his family. Although still saddened over the loss of his beloved wife, Ronald was so appreciative and encouraged by Calvary's generosity. By Letting Go, we have personally touched Ronald's life. His debts are now wiped out, he and his family are looking ahead, and he continues to shine the light of Christ's love brightly in India.
In two weeks, Ronald will visit Calvary Church as part of our annual Global Outreach Week. . By training and encouraging pastors and church planters, Ronald is one of the highest capacity ministries I have seen in India . Don't miss this opportunity to personally meet and interact with Ronald
