Day of Children's Quilts. Quilt Connection is hosting a special quilting session to make children's quilts for the House of Hope. This special quilting sessions will be held on Saturday, April 4th from 9:30am-3:00pm in room D-109. All levels of quilters from beginners to experts are invited to come.

Roots 4 Kids LITTLE ROOTS GROW BIG AND STRONG

Last Sunday as a church, we studied Luke 5: 1-11 about how Jesus’ disciples trusted God. Calvary’s Children’s Ministries helps our kids learn how to trust God. This week, we interviewed our kids about what they are learning.

Here are a few of their responses:

"We need to learn more and more about God so we won’t forget. There are lots and lots of Bibles and you know what – they all have the same stories because they are all God’s word." - Paige (age 5)

"Trust in God no matter what." - Elizabeth (1st Grade)

"If you don’t trust God, you don’t have respect." - Makaya (1st Grade)

"Tell the truth and listen to God." - Connor (1st Grade)

"God doesn’t make bad things happen to you. He lets them so we can learn." - Cailan (2nd Grade)

"Trust others even if you don’t want to because your parents and God know what’s best for you." - Sarah (2nd Grade)

"I can name all of the books of the New Testament in 15 seconds!" - Logan (3rd Grade)

"Trust God, he has better ideas." - Jared (3rd Grade)

"We should trust God even if it doesn’t make sense." - Katy (3rd Grade)

MEET TRACY EDWARDS
PLAYHOUSE CALVARY

Tracy Edwards How is Playhouse Calvary reaching parents in our community?

Playhouse Calvary began in the Spring of 2007 with only 63 parents and children attending. Just a little over two years later, more than 200 parents and children are attending!

Playhouse Calvary is a safe place where parents can bring their children to play and connect with other parents. Several parents who do not usually attend a church have joined us for our Christmas Eve services and other Calvary events. It's so much easier for someone to walk into a church when they already feel a connection to someone there. The Playhouse Calvary Team wants to do just that -- create a bridge from the community into the church by demonstrating God’s love and our faith in a real, relevant way.

Children's Life Journal

JOURNALING TIPS
4 KIDS

It's important for our children to spend time in God’s word. Encourage them to read the Bible, pray and listen for God's response. Some days will have more “aha” moments than others. And that’s ok.

Allow child to pick out their own journal.

Read the Bible as a family. Ask them how it may help them with family, friends or at school. Pray together.

Encourage them to write or draw a picture about what they read in their journal.

Respect your child’s privacy. Share what you are learning and encourage them to share, but don’t push.
