Every Man's ChallengeEVERY MAN'S CHALLENGE
By Sam Marines

The most beautiful thing God ever made is the Christian woman. For the past ten years, I've watched many Christian wives and girlfriends right here at Calvary Church support their mates - even during times of temptation.

As leader of Every Man's Challenge, a skin-explicit temptation recovery ministry, I've asked myself what that "support" looks like.
It may surprise you.  Last summer, I started receiving anonymous emails from calvarywife, one women coping with her mate's web-based skin-explicit habit.  As I share her journey with the men in Every Man's Challenge, they understand that their temptation (when acted out) is not a victimless act.

This temptation is common, even for men who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Every Man's Challenge helps them realize that a Godly man is not a perfect person, but a man who is honest and humble about sharing his limits of what he alone can overcome. Some men simply struggle with the temptation. Others act out their temptations on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The group is a safe place where men can openly and honestly talk about their particular challenge, regardless of where they are on the spectrum with it. They receive non-judgmental support from group members and discover how to make improvements in their spiritual lives.

Next Thursday, March 26, Every Man's Challenge will start working through a new nine-week series using the book Addiction & Grace by Gerald May.  The group meets on Thursdays from 7-8:30pm at Calvary Church in room C-225.

ROOTS

CALVARY ROOTS GROW STRONGER

For the past two weeks , more than 270 people have joined in a shared Learning Experience focused on growing deeper in God's Word. God is working in amazing ways.

One man admitted that he did not even know how to find certain books in the Bible. He is now studying Luke and is excited about learning how to study better.

"I've really missed God," said one woman who has read the Bible for many years but struggled to understand it. She is finding new ways to connect with God.

Another woman found support around her table. She now meets with a small group and knows others are praying for her.

The Learning Experience with Bob & Nellie Thomas will continue for two more weeks. Join a table this Sunday at 10:45am in the FLC Gym

Prayer

BIBLE STUDY WEEKLY TIP:REMEMBER TO PRAY
Submitted by Dorcan Haque

Praise: Boast about God to him. Tell him who he is and what he does. Remember his names, actions and character that specifically touches you.
(I Chronicles 16:29a)

Repent & Renew: Acknowledge and confess sin. Don't excuse yourself or try to hide it from God. He already knows. Seek to understand the magnitude of sin and accept God's forgiveness. (Proverbs 28:13, Psalm 66:18)

Ask: Pray for the needs of others as well as your own needs. Use scripture to guide your prayers (1Peter 5:7, James 4:2)

Yield: Submit to God and continue to obey him. Abandon yourself to his care. Continue to grow and listen to the Holy Spirt as he guides you through life. Surrender everything you have and hope to be to God. (Proverbs 3:5-6, Colossians 3:17)
