BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
Pres Winters (Contributing Writer)
"Warning! This is a no-hostage area. Enter at your own risk." Each week, Jill Storms passes this warning sign on the way to her Bible
Study within the fences and walls of the maximum security section of the Elmwood Women’s Correctional Facility.
“It is such a humbling experience to be with these women each week," says Jill. “We are all sinners. I deserve 24/7 lock-down as much as anyone, and when I see these formerly hardened and abused women signing, praying and praising God, it just reminds me that I am right where God wants me to be.”
Unlike other Bible studies she has attended, Jill says that all the women at Elmwood is at some crisis point in their lives. “Yet every week, women stand to claim their reliance on Jesus Christ. It is just amazing to watch them minister and pray for each other. I am blessed and strengthened just being around these women each week, far more, I believe, than they are!”
In spite Jill has never been afraid to enter a maximum security prison. “The safest place to be is in God’s will, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”

HALLOWEEN IN NOVEMBER
Our troops haven't enjoyed the taste of chocolate in months. Can you imagine that? With the sacrifice they are making for our country, Adopt-a-Chaplain wants to send some care packages to sweeten their November.
Beginning Sunday, November 2, Adopt-a-Chaplain will be collecting left-over Halloween candy (or candy from all the great after-Halloween sales) for our deployed troops again this year. Candy will be boxed and shipped to chaplains who will distribute it to their "chocolate challenged" troops.
Drop off your donations at church on Sundays or at the church office during the week. This is a great and fun way to support our troops this fall!
