WHERE'S YOUR FACE
AFTER SUNDAY MORNING? Carolyn Bennett, Director of Communications
Join the conversation
any day of the week...
Millions of people are involved in social networking websites like MySpace, FaceBook and Twitter. As our society becomes more and more mobile, these sites have helped people stay in touch with family, friends, and co-workers, meet new people, and connect with organizations with similar interests.
In September, Calvary Church launched a new community page on FaceBook.com and has already united over 225 members of the Calvary family on the social network and 150 members on high school and college student pages. The Calvary page includes information like service times, upcoming events, photo albums, and videos about what is going on in our church. Members can also engage in discussion forums, post messages on the Calvary Church wall, and meet others in our family. With over 120 million users to date, FaceBook is great avenue to accomplish that goal.
"We are always exploring new and fresh ways to communicate internally and externally," says Danny Busch, Digital Media Director at Calvary Church. "Calvary is one of the few churches, that I know of, actively and appropriately using Facebook to create an environment where people can interact with the church and our community through events, videos, blogs, discussion boards, and more."
If you are already a member of FaceBook, you can easily subscribe to updates as a fan. If you are not already a member, you can check out our page by clicking on the link below. Anyone can view the page, but to interact with the community, you must be a member of FaceBook.

SHINING A NEW LIGHT IN LOS GATOS
Almost two years ago, Calvary Church purchased this home on Los Gatos Blvd. On Sunday, October 19th, as part as our Church Has Left the Building community service day, several volunteers spent the morning painting and fixing up the House of Hope.
Next week , Calvary Church is partnering with West Valley Community Services and Second Harvest Food Bank to gather 20,000 pounds of food to distribute to hungry families in Los Gatos through the House of Hope. Please take time to check out the list of most needed items on our websit and bring them to Calvary Church by November 21st.

MEET DANNY BUSCH
DIGITAL MEDIA DIRECTOR
How is Calvary Church using technology to reach beyond our walls?
I'm really excited about the ground
that we're making as a church holistically and the significant steps we're making with technology along the way.
I truly believe that visual media, much like music, has the ability to impact people in profound ways. There is something about watching someone tell a compelling story- their expressions, hearing the impact of the experience in their voice, viewing images that draw us in and allows us to connect and share in an experience. That's when I think God moves in our lives. God is doing really incredible things in our church and community, and we have the capability through technology and media to share those stories inside and outside our walls. That is very exciting to me.
