GOT TALENT?

Letting Go: The needs in our community are growing. Each week, Calvary Church receives calls from individuals and families in dire need. This month, we are encouraging people in our family to sell some of their possessions - unused bikes, exercise equipment, or other items and donate the funds to Calvary Church's Letting Go project. Money received will help us meet the needs of many in our community. Let's continue to reach outside our walls to change lives for Jesus Christ!

CELEBRATION OF LIGHT
Christmas Eve Candlelight Services at 4:00pm & 6:00pm

"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (John 8:12)

Isn't it comforting to know that when the world is crumbling around us, that Jesus brings a light that gives us hope. This Christmas Eve, Calvary Church will celebrate the Light of the World with two special candlelight services. On Wednesday, December 24th, we will take some time to look to our one true source of hope and celebrate how God has used Calvary Church as a light in our community.

As we welcome guests from our neighborhoods and community, each of us has the opportunity to point someone towards the Light of the World. Join us for this special evening. Bring your family and invite a few friends and neighbors to join our family for this special celebration.

HURRICANE RELIEF IN HAITI LEADS TO CHURCH GROWTH

This fall, four powerful hurricanes plummeted into the Caribbean. Haiti suffered from major flooding and wind damage. Thousands od men, women and children were suddenly without homes and food. Calvary Church's Global Ministry quickly sent funds to Guillomettre Herode, a Hatian national and member of our Global Staff. Funds were used to provide food, supplies, and medicine to families and churches in need throughout the community.

Guillomettre recently responded: "Because of this support for the local community, some of the churches are now full of people every Sunday...Thanks to God's grace for answering the call and prayer of the poor Hatians during this crisis."

MEET ANDY GRIDLEY
WORSHIP ARCHITECT

Andy GridleyHow has the Letting Go initiative enhanced our worship experience as a church body?

You can't fake enthusiastic worship gatherings: all the best worship music, lighting, and programming can't even begin to compare to the type of worship gatherings we experience when we live out the mission of Jesus Christ.

Through "Letting Go," we've had the opportunity to not only be "hearers of the word" but "doers" of the word (James 1:22). As we become collective "doers," something shifts in our worship. Words we sing are confirmed not only in what we read or hear but through our experience. Literally the accounts of God's power and love become alive to us in the people and stories we encounter firsthand.

A particular freedom in worship begins to emerge when we gather together and align ourselves, not to a particular musical genre, but to the person of Jesus Christ.
