YOUTH LET GO WITH A CHRISTMAS FUNDRAISING EVENT
Youth of all ages decided to "Let Go" on December 10th with a special event, Christmas for Everyone. Middle school, high school and college students led and organized this fun-filled evening of music, games and food that raised $675.00 for Calvary's Letting Go campaign to help those in need.
Students musicians produced a compliation CD featuring Andy Gridley, student bands, and guest artists. Others donated art and photography to be auctioned. The evening also included a bake sale, shooting range, and Christmas cards to encourage Second Harvest Food Bank volunteers and those who visit them for food.
"We are amazed at the quality students can produce," said Steven Dang, High School Ministries Directors. "They made it their own. We look forward to what they will product in the future."
A podcast of the evening is available on the Student Life Ministries BLOG (see link below).

CALVARY SHARES CHRISTMAS WITH FAMILIES IN NEED
On Sunday evening, December 14th, Calvary Church in partnership with West Valley Community Services hosted a Christmas party for several families in the Los Gatos community. More than 50 people enjoyed a turkey and ham dinner and received a gift card to Target. Not one had ever been to Calvary Church.
"We wanted them to feel special even though life is hard right now," said Matt Turner, Pastor of Community Relations.
The event introduced these families with the House of Hope, the first regional food bank in Los Gatos, scheduled to open in January. Calvary's Letting Go campaign will help those in need in our community.
Jan Winters, Pastor of Ministry Development spoke with several families who attended the dinner. One person explained having to take time off work to drive down to Cupertino to pick up food. Jan responds: "The House of Hope will be far more convenient for them. "
